You need a "PEROXYD.DAT" to use the soundpack - otherwise it reverts.

It is indeed a bug that the Per.Oxyd soundpack is selectable even if it
is not available.
I'll write a bug report at
http://developer.berlios.de/bugs/?group_id=3972 and fix the bug ASAP.
