We shouldn't condemn Apple as a whole. As with all companies, Apple consists of lots of people, all with different opinions, politics, and sympathies towards or against opensource. The result of course is a seemingly inconsistent behaviour of the whole, where OSS is appreciated in some places, declined in others, ignored or accepted in yet other parts of the company. It's just the complex around App Store / iPhone we're speaking about at this point.
