Hi Patrick and other enigmail folks-- I'm trying to better understand the enigmail build process so that i can keep it up to date within debian.
I see that in the changes to 1.5.2 you've updated the source to use the
new mozilla build system (e.g. commit 283b077aa), but 1.5.2 is intended
to be used with thunderbird 17.0, which does not have the updated build
system.
Does this mean that 1.5.2 is built against upstream's beta sources
(prereleases of TB 24), but they effectively retain compatibility with
the older (17.0) "stable" releases? Or was 1.5.2 built against the
TB 17 sources that were somehow integrated into the new build system?
I'm a little leery of trying to ship cross-built binaries so it would be
useful to me to know how you're doing the build for the binary packages
shipped on enigmail.net.
I'm still struggling with complexities of building enigmail from source,
so i might also be misusing the terms above. I would welcome any
edifying corrections or clarifications :)
Thanks as always for your work on enigmail. It is a great tool to have.
Regards,
