The trouble is that i don't know which user IDs are likely to trigger
this before i send mail.

Even if i could rely on the key icon in the compose window to correctly
indicate whether the message will be encrypted or not, without being
able to see the selected key at send time i can't tell whether this is
going to be a problem.

Once i discover a given problem, i can set a per-recipient rule, but
that'll only happen after i annoy my correspondent at least once
(assuming they let me know, rather than just deleting the
incomprehensible e-mail).
