When you use countermail with Thunderbird it would seem that it's simply
another imap account - difficult to see if they're trying to do anything
clever at the server end because you can't use their imap/smtp services
with a trial account.

Have you downloaded your keys from countermail and imported them into
enigmail? You need your private key to decrypt mail sent to you.
When you do this it will probably be the password used with your
countermail account which will be the passphrase.
