Hello, I'm not an image-processor expert, however I want to convince my company to use Free Software instead of proprietary ones. We're creating a web service to deal with medical and other images, so we need to work with big images (about 1Gb), can imlib2 work with images of that size? (It's not all the time, just once, see explanations below) Then, we need to split that big, high resolution image, in smaller pieces (ie: 200x200), to compound the bigger one, like a mosaic. Then we need the same for that image at different scales (ie: 80%, 70%, 60%, ...). These pieces will be scaled down and clued together to form the desired image (ie: user requests (x,y) w x h, 70% zoom). The output image will be in JPEG. This operation will be performed a lot of times. So here comes the 2nd question: What the fastest format that imlib2 can load? User may adjust contrast, light, saturation. Can imlib2 do that or I need to do it myself? 4th question: imlib2 can load some medical image formats? Like DICOM. 5th: Does imlib2 use gamma correction (www.srgb.com) when scaling? (I don't know too much about that, the guys just asked me that) And how does imlib2 compare to ImageMagick? Thank you very much!
