It would possibly be preferable to have it outside of edje so the edje-lib won't be stuck with it forever even once there are better ways, but yes, then one would have to add the evas-object with the pseudo-trans bitmap manually. If you find a way to stick in the object, here's how to make it (you should be able to use transparency_get_pixmap() and get_desk() unchanged; it should handle normal, tiled and solid colour backgrounds as well as e16's multiple desktops, use away under usual e-licence):

On second thought, maybe it *should* go into edje with a "transparent"
keyword because then once better transparency becomes available, we
can fix it in a single location in edje rather than having to fix all apps.
