What I want is for the windows to remain stacked as they are, until I finally select one in the alt-tab menu and release the alt key.
You want it to behave like MS Windows. :-) With the multitude of focus, window raise, and so on settings, it's surely possible. I use Windows all day and am really used to the way it does alt-tab. If I can have E match, it would feel much more comfortable for me.
