yup - that's what index does.. but it's not round. what i'm thinking here is
this:
1. andreas - u want index. you just want to augment its behavior so you can
glue it into "key events" to drive it (when focused) that would come from such
a knob (or up/down/left/right arrow keys etc.)
2. offer another layout option other than vertical or horizontal. this
unfortunately has to be in the widget as it maintains the dataset displayed.
