Hi guys, I just wanted to feed back on where this project is right now. I've been working away on learning the current EFL and pulling together a UI framework to place everything in. I think in terms of the first milestone this summarises things:
✔ Editing and saving text files ✔ Tabbed browsing of open files Opening editor in a new window ✔ Displaying directory for the project (directory) ✔ link files out to eternal viewers / editors No screen waste (toolbar, menu, tab are out of the way of the developer) info panel with logs and useful output There is clearly a lot still to do but it's heading along. I'm keen to chat to anyone who has interesting libraries or related work that could be shared in some way - git (davemds?) and some better file UI (efm?) with other core EFL file handling (enventor?). I'll also be looking into making the app properly pluggable - a mime handling system is probably first up so you can register image editing or edc handlers etc. Thanks for all the pointers so far, hoping it can be useful to people really soon now. If you've got more thoughts please do contribute to the list: https://phab.enlightenment.org/w/edi/ .
