Hi Dale.

I have had exactly the same problem. I haven't been able to fix it to date. However, the suggestion made seemed quite reasonable to me and other people have succeeded in getting it to work. You need to put in a symlink to libImlib.so.1

I have cut and pasted the info sent t me:

------
ln -s libImlib.so.11 libImlib.so.1

should end up like this:

lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root           14 Dec  9 06:59
/usr/lib/libImlib.so.1 -> libImlib.so.11

-----

As I said, it didn't work for me but it may do for you ;-)

Cheers
G.

Hi,

I've had some major problems with Enlightenment since I installed Red
Hat 8.0. I have the latest version of Enlightenment on my system, just
download from the web site a few days ago. I installed the fnlib
package and whenever I attempt to run Enlightenment, I get an error and
can't get into any user account I switch to Enlightenment.

I first did this with my personal user account...swichted to
enlightenment from Gnome as my window manager, got a message that it
wouldn't change until I restarted my xwindow session. I rebooted the
computer, attempted to log into my normal user account and got an error
saying my session lasted less than 10 seconds. When I checked the
.xsession-errors file, this was the error I got...

/usr/bin/enlightenment: error while loading shared libraries:
libImlib.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Doing a locate on libImlib returns this...

/usr/lib/libImlib.so.11.0.0
/usr/lib/libImlib.so.11
/usr/lib/libImlib.a
/usr/lib/libImlib.so

I have been unable to find any references anywhere on any website about
a libImlib.so.1.

I have duplicated this same error with a test user account. I
established a test account, started it with Gnome, switched to
Enlightenment, rebooted the system and I now get the same error for that
account when attempting to log into it.

What's up? What can I do to fix this? I started with the version of
Enlightenment that was shipping with RH 8.0, but upgraded to the latest
version per the Enlightenment web site and still have the same problems.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Wayne
