OK Ciro,
I did as suggested and ran ldconfig. Then I re-ran the script and it
crashed the same way.

The only thing I changed in the script was to change the prefix from
/usr/local to /opt/e17
check if /opt/e17/libs is in your /etc/ld.so.conf, if not, add it; then,
run ldconfig and retry to build.
