First of all - I just recently made the switch from being a full-time
Windows user, to Debian. Three weeks now, and I only boot into Windows
for gaming (Wish M$ didn't have anything to do with that game, then
perhaps it could come to Linux!). I started with KDE, and while any
change from XP is for the better, I didn't see everything I could do
with my GUI until I installed e17. Faster, prettier & more stable
than XP ever was for me, and this is alpha software! So I'd just like
to thank all the developers for a great piece of software.
Now, for the questions... I'm using rasterman's get_e script to update
occasionally. I've watched the CVS messages scroll by and have an idea
of some of the items updated, but I wondered if anyone has a list of
what get_e updates. Related to that, any suggestions on other portions
of e17 that aren't updated, that I should check out? I'm not using
entrance, already took that out with the option in that script. I am
using the engage module & evidence, and the the usual e_utils for
making icons, changing backgrounds, etc.
Also, using get_e .. Any suggestions (personal preference, even) for
how often to update with this script? I've been running it almost
daily, but wasn't sure how often there are significant updates to CVS.
Final question, for now - I've found directions for forcing
transperancy with the standalone Engage, but not with the module. I see
no theme-related configuration for it at all, and have no clue how
(doesn't seem it would be possible) to fee the module version any
command-line flags.
Anyway, thanks again for the great software, and hope someone has time to help a new user.
Ben
