have you been living under a cave? :) Compiz is a fork of metacity (the 
GNOME window manager) with a compositing manager built in.  It runs on 
top of Xgl, a GL-based X server and... oh just go to

and look at some screenshots. :)  So far i have found it to look nice 
but not help me do any work... and I'm such an eye-candy junky that I 
thought I would love it!  The problem with it is that since compiz is a 
compositing manager + window manager in one, you have to use it instead 
of (not in addition to) enlightenment.
