they would look ugly using the old gadman code too - if the imagery they use is
ugly. it has nothing to do with gadcon/shelves.

sure - but displaying it on the desktop which either then needs to remain
exposed (so why not be in a window anyway?) or be smarter and pop it up on
demand simply indicating a change happened in the rss feed?
