It has failed again. And by looking at the mouse pointer, I have seen that it moves rapidly (as if it was shaking). It is likely this is the reason for power saving failing on my monitor, and the interaction between Enlightenment's own power saving settings and xset was just a coincidence. Is there any way I can make the computer disregard these erratic random mouse movements for the idle time calculation? The ideal solution would be for the computer to use an intelligent algorithm to analyse the mouse movement and disregard noise. A worse solution would be for the computer to apply a digital filter to the mouse movement to disregard noise. An even worse solution (but still far better than the current situation) would be to ignore the mouse movement completely, and calculate idle time based solely on mouse clicks and keyboard activity. Can it be done?
