For me, Ubuntu Hardy, resp. 64 Studio, Kwin/KDE4, GNOME and e17, there are the following items: $ ls /etc/xdg/menus applications.menu gnomecc.menu kde-applications.menu settings.menu applications-merged gnome-screensavers.menu preferences.menu The application entries seems to be in another directory. Maybe here are some hints: http://standards.freedesktop.org/menu-spec/latest/index.html#introduction On my system /usr/share/desktop-directories is the place were are translations for the sub menu names. The applications seems to be listed at /usr/share/menu. Reading such an entry, I don't understand why e.g. 'Firefox' is in KDE4's and GNOME's menus, but not in the e17 menu, there must be another directory with a file or files that configure this. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Let Crystal Reports handle the reporting - Free Crystal Reports 2008 30-Day trial.
