i don't remember then COMPLAINING. :) different between mention/notice and
complain. didums. delete the files if they bother you. :)

eh? now that's utterly bizarre. i have never done this in 12+ years of working
on e. i recompile and install live while e runs and then just "ctlr+alt+end" to
restart e. every time. on the odd occasion there's been a hiccup - but thats
known as certain incompatible code changes were made... but i have never
changed. a recompile takes about 5-10 mins (i have mine scripted and yes - it's
only compiling the core needed for e17, and the rebuld re-run the autogen
scripts thus take a bit longer than they would just running configure).

they add these in memory when scanning hal and config then placing virtual
icons. e's fm only handles real icons mapped to real files - adding virtual
ones will be a pita, so its much easier to drop real icon files there and re-use
the entire "real file handling" for this. it emans peolpe got their desktop
icons quickly and they work and work reliably.
