Aehm, my fault, I meant that these folders stay where they are (fixated) and have no window borders, sorry. > alternative, you could use a folderview screenlet: > http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Folderview+Screenlet?content=102890or > http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/AnotherFolderView+Screenlet?content=111823 The first is quite close to what I mean. But, not to mention the gnome/ubuntu-dependency, just look at the Changelog. Those tools start small and grow to beasts. I rather believe in a reducible file manager than in an applet that becomes a file manager over time. Second, I'd want these folders to behave familiar instead of fully different to my file manager. At least as long as I use them in a similar way. I mean, how do these apps treat clicks on folders and such. I'm rather for a fixated and configurable efm with some more layouts to choose from. Otherwise, there could be a filemanager- framework with which we can script our panes task-wise ;) > I hope that's a suitable solution for you. yes and no :) Many thanks, Dennis Heuer <[email protected]> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ EMC VNX: the world's simplest storage, starting under $10K The only unified storage solution that offers unified management Up to 160% more powerful than alternatives and 25% more efficient.
