Yes but intermittently. Some occasions switching to a console (Ctrl 
-Alt-F*), to kill the program, and back to Xorg to try again resolves 
the issue. It seems as though X loses input focus to the console?
Running some console-type, e.g links, programs under Xorg sometimes 
result in the same problem.
Running via gdb previously showed E17 working normally with no errors.
