Here 's the problem for graphic work like creating, editing photos, etc.. : dpms turns off screen completely. When I turn on my (very expansive Eizo professionnal) lcd screen, it must heat. It takes about half hour a screen to get right and definitive colors like color temperature. After dpms turned off screen power , so, I have to wait half hour to get again right screen state... The only way is to disable blanking all the time, which is not very good for screen life.... That's why I say E17 is now inadequate for graphic work. If you need only web surfing or text, it's ok.
