screensaver kicked in while u were gone :) xserver said "hey - screenblank!
we're idle!" :) e is just following what x said, :)

xserver is probably refusing to process gl buffers swaps or blocking rendering
of apps - thus hanging the media player. the vlc back end uses a separate
process to do the playback - thus it works and is not blocked.

sounds like nouvau doesnt make buffer swaps "nops" while gone, maintaining
actual state correctly. :)
