Let me quote the entire mail exchange:

I hope that's a joke.

I do not use systemd and have no interest in doing so.

May I point out that e17 is a window manager/desktop shell, not
something else? I don't like it when WM authors do silly things like try
to dictate what basic system software I should use. Just sayin'

no leading character is me.

Now, WM authors dictating basic system software is silly, it's out of
scope, and has no real technical basis. It's silly in the same way that
coding a scheme where Gnome is a requirement for e17 is silly. Makes no
sense. You might not like it but it's still nonetheless true.

YOU replied with this:

"I have no
interest into copying the feature and redeveloping them just for the
sake of not relying on some piece of software that your religion
forbid you to use."

and this:

"But because silly distribution do exist, we will
continue to provide a working solution for them."

You don't know what code I run, or what distribution I use, or why. So
stop insulting me about my decisions when you do not know what they are.

You seem to have taken my warranted use of the word silly as an excuse
to dump in public. Then, and only then, I called you out on how your
response sucked. Still wanna take these flames further?

How about instead you reword your announcement, laying out the reasons
why you support systemd in the way you do and how this affects users who
do not use systemd.
