places do dot use eeze (yet), it use udisks. Look at the last lines of the
places
configure script, you should see this:

Device Backends:
 * build udisks (eldbus)....: yes (default)
 * build eeze...............: no (experimental)

the eeze backend do nothing in places atm, you need to use the udisks
backend
