Hello.
We have 19 days to go before efl and elm 1.10 gets released.
We need to focus on stabilization in this phase and I wanted to list
some areas many people can help with to spread the load.
A random list you can pick from when you feel like helping out (you
should :))
o Take the current git HEAD, compile it and run it on your devices
o Let us know about problems. Fill a bug in phab.enlightenment.org
if needed
o This is especially important for systems that are not tested on a
daily basis. Windows, *BSDs, embedded systems come to mind.
o Run make check on your system to see if anything fails and report
o Run ABI compliance checker to avoid having a API/ABI break. Tom will
take care of this.
o Go through the bugtracker at phab.enlightenment.org and help out
o Sort through the incoming queuue. Add project, priority and
assignee as needed
o Try to reproduce the problem
o Try to fix it and submit patches
o Look through the coverity and clang reports to verify issues which
the static analyzers found.
o If you don't have access to the coverity issues sign up and
request membership and we will approve it.
o Take a look at the generated warnings during compile and try to fix
them
o Maybe try out gcc 4.9 and see what new warnings it brings
o Run applications that use efl like Enlightenment, Terminology, etc
with latest code from git
o Try out released versions of the applications and maybe git
versions as well
o Report bugs if you see a regression from an earlier released efl
and elm version.
Do your part to help making this a nice release you will have much joy
using. :)
regards
Stefan Schmidt
