xserver provides the blanking (screensaver) event. it is possible to suspend
the screensaver feature of x - kodi is likely doing this. for example rage does
this (efl video player) *IF* it's in fullscreen mode. only then though. i
suspect kodi is doing ti all the time regardless of its state.
