hmm, seems to me that you are getting the normal behavior of 2 adiacent
monitors...

Look at this image:

The image show the normal default situation when you attach a secondary
monitor/projector to a pc:
the secondary monitor (the one on the left in the photo) only show the bg,
but you can move the mouse
and drag windows between the 2 monitors.
Try to move the mouse pointer over the borders (left/right/top/botton) of
your primary screen, it should
"jump" to the other monitor (if you get the correct direction).


I did not understand if what you want is cloned monitors (same image on
both monitors) or you want
the "adiacent desktops" as in the photo.

Also note that if you want to use cloned monitors you probably need the 2
monitors to have exactly
the same resolution and the same aspect ratio, otherwise one of the 2
monitors will work badly, or
doesn't work at all.
