Sorry this message got accidentally buried in the moderation queue under a pile of spam and I missed it as a real message :-( I see you asked it again on Google+, but for the sake of the mailing list archives, I'll repeate my answer here too... I have thought about this idea myself, since I do astrophotography too, but I think that really you want the entire screen to be red, not just the entangle application. Not sure if you use GNOME or KDE or something else, but I kind of feel that you'd want a extension for the desktop environment to put a red overlay across the entire desktop. Having said that, I'd honestly just suggest you head over to ebay and purchase a sheet of "Rubylith" and cut it to fit your laptop. THis is because not only do you want the colour to be red, but you want the intensity of the light cut down significantly. Even on lowest brightness setting, many laptops are still too bright. The astronomy shops sell it at a huge markup. I found some real cheap rubylith on eBay that was a big enough sheet to cover my main large laptop, a small network, and my mobile phone. eg something like this one, though there are other sellers too http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rubylith-style-red-masking-film-preserve-night-vision-/280622107685?hash=item4156618c25:g:tWYAAOxyRNJSgsW4 Regards, Daniel -- |: http://berrange.com -o- http://www.flickr.com/photos/dberrange/ :| |: http://libvirt.org -o- http://virt-manager.org :| |: http://autobuild.org -o- http://search.cpan.org/~danberr/ :| |: http://entangle-photo.org -o- http://live.gnome.org/gtk-vnc :| _______________________________________________ Entangle-devel mailing list Entangle-devel@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/entangle-devel
