I vote for bug or just a bad design.

This bit me a few weeks ago setting multi-user auth on a switch uplink port.
The port configuration wizard tells you about it, but doesn't give you a chance
to change it. Very frustrating.

Enterasys, please change this. Either give the user the option to do it, or
revert to the previous functionality. Let the users decide for themselves if
they want to drop tagged frames. I know lots of networks that have IP phones
attached, or are doing multi-auth on a port and this makes life very hard.

Do you use authentication in your network and Policy Manager?

Within the last two/three NetSight versions, the port configuration wizard in
Policy Manager enables "drop tagged packets".

You will need to set this option to disabled with any port wizard configuration
you'll do.

Not sure yet, if bug or feature.

Hope this helps.

Does anyone know what would cause port discard to automatically change to
discard tagged packets? I am working with G3's and I am seeing this happen
while doing some testing.
