https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+question/172850
Status: Needs information => Answered
delance proposed the following answer:
I'm not expert in Samba (CIFS).
If you know IP addresses of PC (should be something like 192.168.1.2), could
you ping their address ?
E.g. ping 192.168.1.2
Are Windows PC answering ?
Could you run command
sudo apt-get install smb
to be sure Samba is installed
Do you have many Windows PC on same IP router, and are they able to see each
other ?
Can you confirm that command smbtree returned nothing.
