It appears that the Mozilla provided Linux ESR 45 (and mainline 45)
builds are built against GTK+2 and not GTK+3 - which good for me ...
The last 45 beta I looked at (beta 3) was built against GTK+3
Was there a reason Mozilla switched back to GTK+2 ?
Is it safe to say that all future ESR 45 releases will stay with GTK+2 ?
Thanks

Hi James
This is something that we don't plan to fix ourselves. That is, we're
not planning to ship GTK+2 builds once we ship GTK+3 builds (which
hasn't happened yet but is very likely to happen before 45 ; it might be
as early as 43).
However, the distros that do ship without GTK+3 support are free to
build Firefox packages with GTK+2 support instead. We are currently
ensuring that the GTK+2 builds are not broken. That being said, I don't
know how long we're going to keep that running.
Cheers,
Mike

As the latest nightlies are now labelled 45.0a1, I thought I would have
look - as the next ESR will be based on version 45
Unfortunately, this will not run on CentOS 6 - as it needs libgtk-3/libgdk-3
Does anyone know where the build requirements are published for the
nightly releases?
And/or does anyone know if it possible to re-build 45.0a1 against GTK 2 ?
Not being able to run ESR 45 on CentOS 6 will be a big problem for us ...
Thanks
