Ashley, are your users experiencing problems which are fixed by this setting? Turning off this security feature is not recommended unless it is causing specific crashes or hangs. This feature was primarily implemented for certain users, such as people using accessibility tools, where Flash protected mode caused Firefox to hang or stop responding.
