I missed the part where you wanted it to prompt the user before installing – for that, choose ‘check for updates’ under Options -> Advanced -> Update instead of ‘automatically install updates.’

That’s actually Firefox’s default behavior. If it’s not doing that, go to Options -> Advanced -> Update and select “Automatically install updates.” The only difference from Chrome’s default behavior is that Firefox only does the check the first time it’s launched each day. I don’t think Mozilla’s ever released more than one update in a 24-hour time period, though, so it shouldn’t be needed more often than that. Hey Mozilla community, Is there a way to trigger Firefox self-check for updates upon start a bit like chrome? Basically right now my users go to about to check for updates, but unless the user does that no update is applied to the browser. The behaviour I’m looking for is that the browser will check for updates and then warn the user that the software client needs to restart in order to apply the changes. Any relevant clue would be much appreciated! Thanks! Éric S.
