Hi,

I don't know a better way today.

I disable about:addons by setting
#addons-page
{display: none !important;}
in userContent.css.

You should also consider disable the addons-entry in the Menubar by setting
#menu_openAddons
{display: none !important;}
in userChrome.css.

We use both files to hide some entries for the user. But our goal is not to prohibit any change then more the prevention of undesired changes by user.
Best regards

Sebastian Metzger

I was trying "Scenario 4: Install an add-on outside of the Firefox directory, but have it still available in Firefox. The user can disable the add-on."

I have this working, the xpi file drops into the "/Library/Application Support/Mozilla/Extensions/{Firefox GUID}"

And I've had to modify extensions.autoDisableScopes

Is that the best Firefox can currently do?
How did you disable the about:addons page?

I have a group of users running both Mac and Windows for which we want to install a web extension and we don't want the users to be able to disable it.

The following page suggests that Firefox offers no way to prevent users from disabling an extension:

Is there any way we can accomplish this?
