I have the same issue.  If using a software management tool, would you suggest 
just using the full installer?


Also, if you run firefox with the -version option?

AFAIK, no.

But you can take a different approach, using a software management
tools (SCCM, Puppet, WPKG, ...) to deploy Mozilla updates.
