Given the loss of "real" extensions, any thought to writing the JSON configurator in something stand-alone? Keeping an ever older Firefox around to generate the config is less than appealing IMO.

Linux especially doesn't seem to have any standard management.
We're open to any ideas folks have about how to do this stuff.

I might suggest that many enterprise products end up with management
modules for puppet and the equivalent for chef etc...

chocolatey on Windows was one that had a really good module that
ended up puppet supported IIRC. It's likely to be the closest Linux
has to GPOs for the foreseeable future. I'm really not sure how the
JSON will be generated via GPO anyway, unless you're writing a CSE
    for Windows! (I wouldn't).

Anyway, for me a good puppet module for policy manager would be a
dream for my cross platform requests. Failing that, something like
CCK that can generate the JSON so we can push with puppet / template
like the current cck.cfg would be nice.

My plan is some new version of the CCK2 that can generate the JSON.
