Hi all,

I just wanted to clarify how we'll be handling the XP/Vista end of support
with the new ESR60 on this mailing list.

In December 2016 we announced
<https://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleases/2016/12/23/firefox-support-for-xp-and-vista/>
that Windows XP and Vista users would automatically be moved to Firefox ESR
and we then communicated
<https://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleases/2017/10/04/firefox-support-for-windows-xp-and-vista/>
last October that June 2018 would be the final support date.

Given the schedule adjustment we made that caused our next ESR (just
released ESR60) to be moved from 59 to 60, the new end of support date for
XP and Vista users will be September 5th.

What’s happening on September 5th?

   -

   XP and Vista users will remain on ESR 52. No more updates will be
   received after 52.9 that is planned to be released on June 26th. 52.9 users
   will be prompted of the end of support per bug 1319164
   <https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1319164>.
   -

   Win7+ users with default update settings will receive the 60.2 update

We strongly encourage our users to upgrade to a version of Windows that is
supported by Microsoft. Unsupported operating systems receive no security
updates, have known exploits, and are dangerous for you to use.

Hope this helps,
Romain
