Just one question...obviously you have to open the event (and can’t just select it in the calendar window) or I’m sure you would have made this possible

Correct. And thank you. This one was really fun to do. I would have had the script parse the text of the selected event, but when you run a script, any text selection in the Calendar immediately disappears, meaning the script can’t get ahold of it. It’s very annoying. Since it is MUCH easier for the script to get the information it needs from an open event window than from a text clipping dragged to the desktop, that’s why I did it that way. But you’ll notice that the window closes at the end of the script – you don’t have to close it. No cleanup to do this way.
This is the best that can be done until they implement dragging an event from the calendar. You’ll notice that if you want to make a link from an event, they have implemented dragging the event to the link window – so it can be done. Looking forward to Entourage 1,5…
