For you it won't matter since I'm sure you have Akua. It didn't really
replace the last-but-one, it was just a "special compiling version" for
people without Akua - it had all the raw codes instead. All the raw event
codes will immediately compile to normal English as in the last-but-one
script. For you, the last-but-one would work fine. The last-but-one is
really the final version. When I compiled it and saved it as a compiled
script, it would work for everyone since I put the Akua stuff in try blocks
with vanilla applescript stuff in the "on error" section. That is actually
my final version, and it will run on everyone' computer if they get it as a
compiled script on my website. But for people without Akua, that version as
sent in email would not compile at all in a script editor, since AppleScript
won't find the terms anywhere. So I did Jon Pugh's trick of copying Akua
osax to my desktop, then moving the original from the Scripting Additions
folder to the trash, and emptied the trash. Then when i opened my compiled
script, all the osax terms were in raw code. (The Smile 'targeted window'
trick only works for applications, not osaxen. same with JD's OneClick
method.) That's what I sent. But as soon as you compile it, IF you have
Akua installed, it goes back to the normal last-but-one version.

So , no - it didn't replace the previous version if you have Akua - it IS
the same version! But if you don't have Akua, it makes it usable. (Akua's
server was on strike for a few days - I think it may still be. All paths
from other osaxen sites link there, do people were stuck without this "raw
code" version.)

Yeah, I keep thinking I can do it all in an hour, but it takes a few more to
get it right. I treat the list as beat testers - hope nobody minds. When it
gets posted on a website, it's usually OK and bug-free by then, aside from
rally obscure things that turn up when someone does something I never
expected with it. So you can always wait until then. Scripts of less than
30 lines or so should be OK here too. the longer, more complicated ones
(that I seem to be drawn to) bite me if I'm too quick.
