By default, AutoCorrect capitalizes the first letter in each sentence. For example, AutoCorrect capitalizes the first letter of a word that follows a period and a space or the first letter of words in a list. If you don't want AutoCorrect to capitalize text, try the following solutions:
Turn off capitalization options You can turn off the AutoCorrect options that you don't want to use.
Undo a specific capitalization correction When AutoCorrect makes an unwanted correction, click Undo on the Edit menu.
Add the word to the exceptions list AutoCorrect provides a list of exceptions for capitalizing words that begin with mixed uppercase and lowercase letters or words that follow a specific abbreviation. You can prevent AutoCorrect from making specific capitalization corrections by adding exceptions to this list in Microsoft Word (Tools menu, AutoCorrect command). For more information, see Word Help.
In your case, adding your initial to the MS Word menu of exceptions should do the trick. In my case, I have to decide how many times I want “and” to be auto-capitalized vs. how often I don’t.
