It means one of two things:

A) your time zone is set incorrectly

B) the sender's time zone is set incorrectly


You can check out (A) pretty easily.  You would need to look at the header
of a message where you are seeing the problem, and see if they timezone
offset is correct for where they are sending from  for example:

Date: Tue, 31 Oct 2000 14:53:57 -0500

The -0500 indicates this is the Eastern time zone (since it's offset 5 hours
from GMT).
