Maybe I don't understand how to use this. Someone on a Windows machine sent
me a lunch invitation as a "vcalendar" message from her "Outlook" program.
Entourage recognized it, and when I opened it, displayed a window I'd never
seen before, with buttons for "Accept", "Tentative", and "Decline." Pretty
cool.

However, when I click on any of the buttons I get an alert box telling me
the message will be sent immediately. If I click on "Send", the message goes
out at once. I have no opportunity to add any reply or comments, like,
"Can't make it Saturday, how about Sunday brunch?" My friend, Suzanne, tells
me that it "should" open up a window allowing me to add comments; it does on
her PC, she says. Is there something missing in the Entourage interface?

If I try to "Reply" instead of clicking one of those buttons, I get the
ugliness below with all the embedded codes. Seems to me it should work like
Suzanne says.

that will work for you. Your side of town is fine. I just need the
address so I can get there by bus or if you want\, we can do my side of
town. There are good Chinese restaurants close by that are cheap (that
should be enough of a departure from turkey as we will probably be sick
of it by then).\n\nLet me know what you want to do.\n\nSuzanne
