I think David is explaining why MS Office doesn’t support conduits and importing/exporting to/from the Newton. You can hardly expect them to devote time and effort to supporting technology that Apple has made obsolete. No hardware or software company ever does that, except occasionally if it’s their own software or hardware (for backward compatibility).
Are you serious? Apple killed the Newton almost 3 years ago (2/27/98) before Office 98 was even released, let alone Office 2001 and Microsoft Entourage.
David! Shame on you! Just because Apple stopped supporting it doesn’t mean that it isn’t/wasn’t a good machine or piece of technology. (In fact, in the early to mid-90’s that seemed to be the surest sign of its vaulue! ;-)
Indeed. I was just hoping.... And I love the Newton’s capabilities, and it’s still working perfectly. Right now I’m trying to figure out if I can sync Meeting Maker and Entourage.... ‘cause Meeting Maker is the company’s standard tool and it CAN sync to the Newton. If I can sync it to Entourage a lot of people in the company are going to love me...
