Title: Re: attachment wierdness
You should use the Appledouble setting for all messages - there is no need to switch formats based on what client you are sending to. Appledouble is the standard format for sending files from Macintosh to any platform; since it is an IETF standard, all standards compliant mail clients will be able to decode it properly for their platform. It is supported by Outlook, Outlook Express, Netscape, Eudora, etc.

The compression is a bit more of a problem, and I find it is best to leave it off.

Subject: attachment wierdness

hello listas!

I was wondering is anyone else is having problems sending .MPG and .MP3 attachments to windows users. I frequently send attachments using E, images (.jpg and .gif) always seem to work fine, but .MPG and .MP3 attachments cannot be read by windows recipients. my default setting is “Encode for Macintosh (BinHex); no compression” is there a default setting that I can set and forget? or will I constantly have to switch this setting back and forth.

please cc:[EMAIL PROTECTED] on any replies
