Many reasons:

First off, although bilingual, I am English. That's a good reason.
;-)

Secondly, I don't mix and match languages on my Mac - it's 100% US software
(too many possible conflicts mixing software - especially MS-type software
which installs libraries and extensions which can easily double up and cause
problems).

Thirdly, updates...the big software houses like MS and Adobe have improved
in this respect, but in general French updates always come out late. And
small free/shareware publshers often don't create local versions.

Lastly, and this may sound strange - French versions often suffer from
slowness and bugs - Photoshop 4 was a classic - popup menus too wide for the
palettes, inverted menu commands etc.

Also, I like to betatest/contribute to software development. In order to do
this properly it's best to have the "reference" version - the US version.

Cheers,
Ric
