You can drag the messages to the desktop from the old identity, switch to
the new one, then drag them into the new one. Yes, you'll have to re-create
the rules. Sorry!
You can try the work around that Nicolai Amter recommended. I think that
will also work and it may be less work for you if you don't have a lot of
items with assigned categories.

Eeek. 15K messages is going to take a lot to import/export. I assume I
have to set up all my rules again as well.
