I had the same problem with bogus categories. Like the others these were the
result of an import from Palm desktop back during the Entourage/Alpaca Beta
some time. What I did to fix is was the following, not too bad a procedure.
(However, my problem was only with categories for contacts.
1. Add the new category names to the palm hand held.
2. Synch.
3. Delete all the originally imported categories from Entourage. (This was
pretty easy, because the original ones were colored.)
4. Select multiple contacts via the apple key for a specific category.
Assign the category.
5. Repeat till all items in Entourage had the proper categories.
6. Synch
At this point all the categories transferred properly to the palm hand held,
and did not duplicate in Entourage.
