Just think, it's only about three weeks ago since Paul & Allen first
discovered applescript, and look at them now! Take some advice, back
out now! If it's too late to back out, find yourself a nice twelve
step programme to join!
Seriously, welcome to the 'community'. Enjoy the programmes and
especially the scripting. There's always plenty of people to help out
when you get stuck (and you will) and point out the simple obvious
errors that have been staring you in the face for hours...
