I've finally found out what - in my case - is slowing Entourage down:
Spell checking in Danish.
My default set-up is naturally to have both Office 2001 and Entourage
checking Danish spelling errors.
This makes especially the Notes feature in Entourage incredibly slow, but
very often also writing mails slows down considerably - with very poor
keyboard response. Switching to English spell checking (it doesn't matter
whether it's UK or US) completely eliminates these slowdowns.
I haven't been able to find a work around - except of course to switch spell
checking off all together, which is something I would like to avoid.
But I guess there might be one, so naturally my questions are:
1) is this a known bug?
2) do you know of any workaround?
(the problem didn't exist in the combination Office 98/OE 5.02)
