I have uploaded new versions of the following scripts to my scripting web
site for Entourage. The scripts can be found in the "Entourage" directory
(or one of the subdirectories) on the web site.
Insert Contact's E-mail\somI -- Prompt for contact name, insert contact's
default email address in the message being edited.
Export/Import Scripts:
Copy to Smile E -- Copies the selection to the Smile script editor, compiles
as a script.
Eudora Export E -- Exports selected messages as an Eudora Mailbox.
Export - Digest E -- Exports the selected messages as a mailing list digest;
digests can be read in the Digest viewer program (shareware), or simply used
as a convenient way to group messages in a simple text archive.
Messages to Disk v2 E -- Fast save of messages to disk as text files; offers
choice of kind of text file.
Messages to Text -- Another version of Messages to Disk; choose your
favorite.
Save as text file w/o prompt -- Saves selected messages as text files in
predetermined format (comes as Simple Text files, but can be changed to use
BBEdit, Tex-Edit, or Entourage as creator for the files), in a predetermined
folder (you must edit the script). No prompts; therefore can be used as an
action in a mail rule.
Save digests to text -- Select digest messages from mailing lists, save in
predetermined folder (edit the script). I use to save digests to disk and
view with Digest Viewer.
Selection Save As E -- Saves selected messages to disk (another like
Messaages to Disk; I have produced this kind of script, or copied it from
the list, several times, and don't have any clear preference for one over
the other).
Transfer to Archive E v6.1 -- My port of Dan Crevier's script; requires his
FMP archive package.
View source in BBEdit E -- As it says; requires BBEdit full version, not
Lite (which is not scriptable).
Message Operations scripts:
Duplicate incoming -- Ported from OE; duplicates incoming message.
Duplicate message \comM -- Duplicates any message (ported from OE).
File Inbox Read Msgs -- Find all "read" messages in Inbox, move to "Read"
subfolder.
File Msgs in Folder\mocF -- Presents a sorted list of your folders, you
select by typing first few characters; files selected message(s) in that
folder. Quicker than drag and drop if you have lots of folders.
Modify date rcvd E -- Change the Date Received of an incoming message.
Modify date sent E -- Change the Date Sent on a message. This and previous
script useful when you get mail from people with date set far in the future
or past.
Open enclosing folder\mo0 -- With a message open, this script will locate
the enclosing folder and open it. Useful if you are in a custom view and
want to find other messages in the same folder as the one you are reading.
Quick save as text -- Yet another script to save messages as text files! I
don't know how I got so many of these things.
New Messages scripts:
Group subset E -- Shows list of groups; you pick one. Displays list of group
members and allows you to eliminate some selectively; then, creates new
outgoing message addressed to group subset.
New Msg Choose Account\cmN -- Shows list of your accounts, lets you pick
one, creates new message From that account.
Reply scripts:
in Digest to Author -- Select message in a digest to reply to its author.
in Digest to List -- Select message in digest to reply to the mailing list.
to From\cmoR -- Reply to the address in the From field, overriding the
"Reply To" header.
Utilities scripts:
Burst a Digest \cX -- What it says.
Count Messages in Folders -- Creates a "message" listing all your folders
and the number of messages in each.
Count Words E -- Counts the words in a message or selection.
Create Dated Journal Entry\msJ -- (Now combines function of "New journal
time entry"). Opens note titled "Journal yyyy/mm/dd" and starts a
time-stamped entry. If no note exists, creates one.
New journal time entry \cmJ -- Locates existing daily journal Note, adds a
time-stamped entry.
Open Custom View\mcV -- Displays list of your custom views, lets you select
one.
Open Folder \cmF -- Type in first few characters of a folder name, it
highlights first match in a list, opens the one you select.
Open Unread Messages\mcU -- Opens a Custom View titles "Unread Messages".
Remove eGroups ads -- Strips annoying advertising from messages coming from
eGroups mailing lists (use with incoming rule).
Repair future sent dates -- If a message has a "Sent" date in the future,
change it to be one hour in the past.
